In 2018 my husband and I packed up everything in our home (after a MASSIVE garage sale) and moved across the ocean for his job.
I took all the clothes I had with me when we moved. It wasn’t a lot.
But, thanks to Allison’s Capsule Outfit Formulas, I haven’t needed to buy any new clothes while living in Germany.
Well, that’s not entirely true. I moved from Central Texas to Germany which meant a significant change in climate. So some new winter boots and a quality winter coat were a couple of purchases I made our first few weeks here.
But after those purchases, I only bought new clothes three times in my two and a half years here.
Why do I tell you all that?
Because, when I purchased this Outfit Formula from Get Your Pretty On, I was given all the quality pieces I needed to make a wardrobe that would last me, without having to buy a bunch of filler pieces.
What is an Outfit Formula
They are, essentially, a formula of all different pieces of clothing that go together to create outfits that will last you all season long.
What I love about Allison’s outfit formulas, specifically for teachers, is that it takes the guess work out of figuring out what to wear.
As teachers, we have enough decisions to make each and every day. Having cute, comfortable, professional, and affordable clothes is incredibly helpful!
Here’s a quick overview, from Allison herself, on how these Outfit Formulas work.
Each Spring (and season), Allison releases a new outfit formula geared for that specific season.
When I was a teacher, finances were super important to me. I don’t know if you knew this or not…but teachers don’t make the most amount of money. So I became really thoughtful about what I bought.
I wanted to buy clothes that were not only affordable but also sustainable so I would have to buy less clothes in the long run (this obviously worked because two years with the same clothes!).
What I love about the outfit formulas is that you get:
- A shopping list of on trend items and classics basics (you’re free to shop where you want and spend as much or as little as you want!)
- Links to shop for recommended items online or in store (Allison has done the work for you by choosing items to suit every budget and body type!)
- A beautifully designed printable outfit guide so you can hang it in your closet when you need inspiration
How to Get Your Fall Teacher Outfit Ideas
It’s SO easy! Really…
You just head here to purchase this seasons wardrobe (plus any others you want… I have the capsule wardrobe formula and highly recommend it). Once you purchase, you are given access to a portal where all the outfit formulas live.
Plus, you can download a printable list that you can check off, cross out, and add notes for whatever your specific needs are.
Like I mentioned above, I have hardly shopped at all since I moved abroad. But this past winter, I really wanted some new clothes. After wearing the same things for two and a half years, you get kind of tired of wearing the same old thing all the time.
So, I printed off my list of winter staple items, crossed off the items I already own and the ones that maybe I would pass on.
Because I didn’t want to be that person with a list at the store, I put it into the notes app on my phone. (Don’t worry, I for sure took my list to Nordstrom Rack when I first got it back in 2018. But I get enough stares from the Germans, I don’t need another reason for them to look at me with confusion across their face 😂.)
And, if you’d rather, you can shop directly from the portal.
Just click on the type of clothing and see the products Allison has selected in creating the spring outfit formulas.
