Instagram post 2192171659581895716_4312577108 Attention #simplyteachpodcast listeners! This week I uploaded the last podcast interview of the season!
____
In this week's podcast, Tania and I talk about honoring students' names. I imagine you, like me, have had students with names from different cultures or languages that are hard for you to pronounce. Regardless of how difficult it is, we must prioritize honoring students' names in our classrooms.
___
Tania and I share stories of times we've both messed it up but luckily Tania gives us some practical ideas of how we can ensure we are saying students' names correctly and making them feel important!

Instagram post 2191869502408157677_4312577108 What "must have" classroom jobs do you have in your classroom?
___
In the elementary classroom, classroom jobs are essential to help ease the burden you have as the teacher. I love utilizing a Daily Helper and Team Captain in my classroom to take care of the majority of classroom jobs. The Daily Helper and Team Captain is an easy way to take care of a lot of the jobs you encounter during the school day. Of course, there are lots more classroom jobs but if you are struggling with what jobs to start with, start here!

Instagram post 2190722229107606172_4312577108 Since I took the month of November off (ish...) this social media account, I didn't get around to sharing about my podcast interview with Caroyln- my real life friend!
___
In last weeks' episode, I talk to Carolyn, a former kindergarten teacher, who is passionate about social-emotional learning and educating her students (and own child!) in a way that honors them but also holds them accountable for their actions.
___
We even get into the discussion about "to clip chart or not." Are you a clip chart user or no? Carolyn gives A TON of valuable books and resources for you to check out. They are all in the shownotes over on my blog.

Instagram post 2181692528275854405_4312577108 We are back from an amazing 10 days in the U.S. and still trying to get over jetlag! I took the whole time off work and have been allowing myself the time to think and get creative with changes I want to make within The Simply Organized Teacher (feel free to send me your *nicely worded* suggestions through DM!) buuuuuut, I need a bit of a social media break. So I am going to continue to keep my posts limited and my time on stories minimal for the next couple weeks to give myself time to work on the things that are really important to me right now! Anyone else needing a social media break?!?
Instagram post 2180575359317956825_4312577108 Up this week is a fun and different kind of podcast! In today's episode, I talk about hygge and my new found love for this word!
___
I first learned of hygge when I read the book "The Year of Living Danishly." Essentially hygge is the "feeling" of joy created by a welcoming space and cozy things. I give a much better definition on the podcast! ;) But I also break down 5 different things you can do in your classroom by creating a cozy space! What do you incorporate into your classroom to make it cozier?

Instagram post 2175853302336647976_4312577108 This week is the final installment of the live coaching session with Jordan over on the #simplyteachpodcast. ⠀
___⠀
Jordan is now well into her second year of teaching and was a lucky winner of the free coaching session after purchasing the Kickstart Your School Year Course back in August. This season we talked about her classroom organization needs (episode 56) and her classroom management plans (episode 59). ⠀
___⠀
Today we will wrap up the session talking about ways to improve her lesson planning routine and I know you will find some helpful ideas in this podcast. ⠀
___⠀ I also recommend making some time to listen to episode 56 and 59. They both have "live coaching session" in the title so you will know they go together. #simplyteachpodcast #podcast #podcastersofinstagram #teacherpodcaster #educationpodcast
Instagram post 2172904434270738450_4312577108 We are SO happy to be back in Texas! Tonight we get to watch these two Aggies dunk their rings! Where are my Aggies at? We have a family full of them and we tried explaining the ring dunk tradition to our German friends. They like the idea of all the beer but could not understand the ring part (but let's be honest, I can't either!)
