I bet you didn’t even know what a teacher sabbatical is, did you?!?! I didn’t either but I am so excited for you to meet Ashley Bible as we chat about that (and much more) on today’s episode!
I found Ashley where I find all my great podcast guests- Instagram! Ashley piqued my interest when I saw her doing some classroom organization challenges and since that’s what I love to chat about, I decided to follow along!
Ways to Stay Motivated as a Teacher
I’ve never been a secondary teacher, which is why I do my best to find great teachers out there who can come on and speak to that. I can imagine a job as a secondary teacher is no less demanding or stressful than that of an elementary teacher.
Ashely and I start out by talking about teacher sabbaticals and how you can take one! She shares about some of the places her and her husband traveled as well as how they began saving early on to be able to afford this.
Ashley also shares about her workshop- Keeping the Wonder, which I will probably never get to attend (which is a real bummer because it sounds like the real deal for secondary English teachers.
I ask Ashley to talk about engagement in the secondary classroom as well as behavior management tips. What she says is pretty much what I do down in elementary world- procedures, procedures, pro-ced-ures!
I’d love for you to have a listen HERE. And I would especially love it if you shared it with your other teacher friends!!!
