I found Ashley by listening to another teacher podcast, Teach 4 the Heart (go check it out!) and knew I had to have her on the show. We spent the majority of our time talking about how to love our students like Jesus does and how important self care is in being a great teacher!
The Importance of Self Care as a Teacher
I started off my conversation with Ashley chatting about her experience as a teacher. She shares with us about her time teaching overseas and what all she learned from that chapter.
We also talk about teacher self care, a lot! As teachers we are often so caught up in taking care of our students, that we for get to take care of ourselves. In the conversation with Ashely, we are reminded of the importance of practicing teacher self care. We can’t pour out to others if we don’t get poured into ourselves.
Ashley and her team at We Teach Joy host day workshops all over the Texas area encouraging teachers in their faith and in taking care of themselves. Her team also does two prayer months a year, where she hopes teachers all over the world will join other teachers in praying over our students, our classrooms, our schools, our administration- everything!
Ashely shares a slew of Bible Verses for you to read for encouragement. Here are some of the verses she shared:
I’d love for you to listen HERE!! I would also love it if you shared it with a teacher friend by sending it to them, positing it on your social media accounts, or saving it to Pinterest!
