Today I am really excited to share with you probably one of things I am most proud of from my teaching career- my Behavior Management Economic System!
Behavior Management Economic System
The Behavior Management Economic System was born out of a desire to teach my students about the importance of saving and managing money. Also, my love of all things “real life.” My favorite things growing up in school were the times that we did projects pertaining to the “real word.”
And it doesn’t get much more “real world” then money! I learned about this system through the book Teach Like Your Hair’s on Fire by Rafe Esquith.
Then, once I got accepted into the Masters Program I was a part of, I had the opportunity to conduct and implement research on a topic of my choosing and a management system that allowed me to positively reward my students with money that they then got to use and manage sounded like the perfect topic for me!
You can read all about the research in this post here. After implementing this in my own classroom, I decided that it would be great to create a version teachers could use in their own classroom. I share about it all on this week’s podcast, but you can also get your copy here!
I’d love for you to listen HERE!! I would also love it if you shared it with a teacher friend by sending it to them, positing it on your social media accounts, or saving it to Pinterest!
