I am so excited to share this week’s episode with you! Amanda and I talk all about the importance of Social Emotional Learning. We talk about how important it is to implement Class Meetings and opportunities for students to build each other up. We also spend some time talking about how important it is to feel the emotions we have, but then put them in perspective and be grateful for where we are. I know you are going to feel Amanda’s positivity beaming from our conversation and I’m so happy for you to meet my friend Amanda!
Social Emotional Learning in the Classroom
Amanda is one of my real life friends from my days in the Teacher Fellow Program (which, if you want to hear other girls I’ve interview from the program check out Episode 5, Episode 6, Episode 16, and Episode 20! Oh, and episode 39 will also be a Teacher Fellow!). Anyways, I love Amanda for her positivity.
If I am completely honest, there were days in my teaching career where I would think “I hate my job! How does Amanda love hers so much?!?” But, as we talk about today, we all have our bad days! Amanda just does an amazing job of remembering perspective when difficult times come.
Amanda and I also talk about Class Meetings which we are both huge advocates for. So if you are at all interested in implementing these or learning more about them, be sure to listen!
And because I am living in Germany right now and she is back home in Texas, we use this time to laugh and catch up. There was a lot of side chatter I had to edit out because we were just having so much fun. I know you are going to love Amanda as much as I do!
I’d love for you to listen HERE!! I would also love it if you shared it with a teacher friend by sending it to them, positing it on your social media accounts, or saving it to Pinterest!
