Simply Teach #43: Tips to Pack Up a Classroom

Simply Teach- a podcast for teachers, by teachers. In this episode we talk about how to pack up your classroom in an organized way.

Today’s show is nothing new in the world of The Simply Organized Teacher. I’ve written a couple blogs on how to pack up a classroom and even recorded a video about it, but today I decided to put it into audio form so you could listen and gain different perspective.

Tips to Pack Up Your Classroom

If you can take the time to pack up your classroom in an organized and methodical way now, it will make unpacking your classroom a breeze. (Spoiler alert: there’s an unpacking the classroom podcast coming out later this summer!)

The steps I share in today’s show are the six steps I used when packing up my classroom at the end of each year.

    • Setting Goals for the Upcoming Year
    • Technology
    • Organizing Materials
    • Pack Up Cabinets
    • Take Down Walls
    • Pack
    • Plan Ahead

I share all of these steps with a lot more detail on today’s podcast. I’d love for you to have a listen HERE. And I would especially love it if you shared it with your other teacher friends!!!

If you’d like the free download checklist for how to pack up a classroom, then make sure you are on my email list by singing up here. If you already are on my list then you have access right here in The Organizer’s Bin (password is in all emails sent from me!)

Instagram post 2195493326236371807_4312577108 Double tap if you avoid meeting in small groups because of the chaos of it all? You know, you have to first get your kids to actually do their work while you aren't over their shoulders. Then you have to manage all the extra materials that come with small group teaching. You're doing all this while trying to teach and monitor and help and support and redirect. No wonder we are so exhausted at this point in the year! ___Join me this Thursday, December 12th, for my free live workshop Master Your Classroom in 2020. Instagram post 2194617591044220074_4312577108 I love this "command center" a teacher I used to teach with had in her 5th-grade classroom. It's organized, clutter-free, and clearly labeled. ___You, too, can create something like this in as little as 30 minutes, with things you likely already have in your classroom. ___What are one or two of your areas in your classroom with organization and routine to help keep the flow in your classroom?

Instagram post 2194043797548093292_4312577108 A few weeks back I was on @edverythingeudcation's podcast and they asked me a really critical question I have never even considered. The question was "can everyone be organized?"___My answer? Yes! You may not have all the ideas and passion to be organized (but, that's why you have me!). That doesn't exclude you, though. ___Next week I'll be hosting a workshop and I want to invite YOU, stressed out teacher!
