This week my guest on the Simply Teach podcast is Sarah Spears from Learning is Magical. Sarah and I “met” online in a teacher facebook group. She posted something about classroom organization and I of course geeked out because classroom organization is like…MY FAVORITE THING!! So we became blogging friends and I invited her to be on the podcast to talk about our favorite thing.

Sarah is a first grade teacher in Tennessee. This is her second year teaching and WOW! She is full of so much wisdom, joy, and encouragement. If you are a first-year teacher, you’ll want to be sure to listen to this episode because she shares some first-year teacher tips that are fresh because she just went through it!
We talk about classroom organization- ways to organize teacher materials, community vs. individual supplies, and the dreaded student desks. Because let’s be honest, those can be a hot mess! Before recording, we had some of our followers send us some classroom organization questions so we did a rally robin (#kagan) of organization Q&A.
Of course, we wrap up talking about Sarah’s biggest pet peeve in teaching (PENCILS! Can anyone else relate?!?) what is keeping her sane right now (reading, eating healthy, and walking with teachers at her school), and her favorite kid moment (a sweet moment talking about friends with her students).
I’d love for you to have a listen HERE! And I would especially love it if you shared it with your other teacher friends!!!
