This week on Simply Teach I invited on Marie Morris to chat about engagement in the secondary classroom. I am always in awe of secondary teachers who keep their kids engaged and motivated because those teenage hormones can be a lot to handle!
Marie and I have been social media friends for a while so I was really excited when she agreed to be on the podcast and talk with me all about best practices for engagement in the secondary classroom.
Engagement in the Secondary Classroom
Marie is a high school English teacher and a bundle of excitement and joy! Our conversation is going to have you laughing and nodding your head in agreement- even if you teach little bitties!
A subject I love to talk about, and one we do talk about, is the art of “balance” *insert laughing emoji.* As a momma to two littles, Marie shares how she manages staying present at home and staying present at school so she can be her best self when she is at each place.
You will also gain insight from Marie (even if you are an elementary teacher) about the importance of relationships with our students! Relationships are the base layer to a functional classroom- really!
I’d love for you to have a listen HERE. And I would especially love it if you shared it with your other teacher friends!!!
